WPD has a very busy start to 2023

All those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty

Saturday December 31, 2022

Wellsville Police arrested Edward A. Bulkeley III, age 31 of Cuba, charging him with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving, AUO 3rd, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Improper/No Signal and Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign. The charges stem from an attempted traffic stop on South Main Street and East Hanover Street area. The vehicle was pursued along East Dyke Street to Williams Avenue to the School Street area. Bulkeley was located on Merriam Heights a short time later and taken into custody. Bulkeley was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. Bulkeley is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on January 24th at 4:30 pm. Wellsville Police were assisted by New York State Police. Additional charges are pending.

Tuesday January 3, 2023

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 44 of Wellsville, charging him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Pine Street in May of 2022. He was transported from the Allegany County Jail to be processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was returned to the Allegany County Jail and is due back in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.

Tuesday January 3, 2023

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 31 of Wellsville, charging him with Disorderly Conduct. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Scott Avenue on November 10th. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson and released. The accused is due back in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.

Tuesday January 3, 2023

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 41 of Belmont, charging her with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Williams Avenue on September 6th. She was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on March 21st at 4:30 pm.

Tuesday January 3, 2023

Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested a male, age 20 of Angelica, for failure to appear in Wellsville Village Court on previous Vehicle and Traffic charges. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson and released. The accused is due back in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police arrested a male age 46 of Wellsville, charging him with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Merriam Heights on December 4th. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson and released. The accused is due back in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 32 of Wellsville, charging her with Petit Larceny. The charge stems from an incident that took place at Dollar General on W. Dyke Street on July 28th. She was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. He is due back in Wellsville Village Court at a later date.

Wednesday January 4, 2023

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 54 of Cuba, charging him with DWI, Moved from lane unsafely and Speed not reasonable and prudent. The charges stem from a motor vehicle accident that took place on State Rte. 19 near Coats Street. He was processed, issued and appearance ticket and released to a third party. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on January 17th at 4:30 pm.
