Each month this year we’ll be highlighting an individual or family who has impacted our community in a positive way. For January 2023 we’d like to introduce you to Dawn and Kevin Scott! The Scotts have been instrumental in helping coach, organize, and maintain quality youth sports throughout the GV community.

Kevin started coaching t-ball in Belmont in 2005 and then Little League in 2009. He oversaw the youth league for 7 years, helping with sign-ups, recruiting coaches, ordering equipment, and organizing schedules. He also coached youth basketball for a few years and helped organize summer baseball camps.

Dawn coached t-ball for one year, helped with details of the youth league, and helped schedule and manage the concession stand. She still serves as treasurer of the youth league with Kevin.

Kevin has coached a variety of sports at Genesee Valley, including modified basketball (2 years), JV basketball (5 years), Modified baseball (2 years), and varsity baseball (5 years and counting).

Kevin is a Culinary Arts Instructor at Alfred State College and Dawn is a Payroll, Benefits, and HR Specialist at ACCORD. The Scotts lived in Belmont for many years and recently moved to Angelica. They have two sons who both graduated from GVCS, Dylan in 2018 and Trent in 2022.

Thank you, Scott family, for the countless hours you have invested in the young people of our area for nearly 20 years!
