Indictments for jail violence and arson

Defendant’s Name:  Keyon Great

Address:  Belmont, New York       

Charges:  Assault 2nd (D felony)             

Court Appearance Date:  December 14, 2022

Proceedings:  Keyon Great was indicted by a grand jury for Assault 2nd (D felony) following a fight within the Allegany County Jail.  The fight is alleged to have resulted in injury to another inmate.  

Prosecuting Attorney:  Ian M. Jones, Assistant District Attorney     

Defendant’s Name:  Michael J. Heverly

Address:  Allen, New York       

Charges:      Arson 3rd degree (C felony);
Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (D felony)
Reckless Endangerment 1st degree (D felony)

Court Appearance Date:  December 14, 2022

Proceedings:  Michael J. Heverly was indicted by a grand jury for 3 separate felony counts.  Heverly is accused of intentionally starting fire to 2 separate buildings on a property in the Town of Allen back in June of this year, destroying one and damaging the other.  The defendant will be arraigned on these charges in County Court at a future date.
