Assistant District Attorney Ian M. Jones prosecuting

Defendant’s Name:  Aweys A. Hussein

Address:  Amity, New York       

Charges:  Assault in the 2nd degree (a class D felony)

Court Appearance Date:  September 28, 2022

Proceedings:  Aweys A. Hussein returned County Court for allegedly assaulting an inmate within the Allegany County Jail, causing injury.  The terms of a settlement were placed on the record, with the defendant’s plea and sentencing scheduled for November 29, 2022.  The defendant will plead guilty as charged and be sentenced to 2 years in state prison with 1.5 years of post-release supervision.

Defendant’s Name:  Justice Zeager

Address:  Friendship, New York       

Charges:      Grand Larceny 4th degree (E felony)

Court Appearance Date:  September 29, 2022

Proceedings:  Justice Zeager was convicted of grand larceny in the 4th degree in Allegany County Court, stemming from the theft of a vehicle in the Town of Friendship.

Defendant’s Name:  Kelly Baker

Address:  Belmont, New York       

Charges:      Violation of Probation            

Court Appearance Date:  September 27, 2022

Proceedings:  Kelly Baker was brought before the Allegany County Court for an alleged probation violation.  The defendant denied the alleged violation and the People requested a hearing on the matter.  The defendant was sent to the Allegany County Jail on $1,000 cash bail and a hearing was scheduled for October 21, 2022.

Defendant’s Name:  Coty J. Denning

Address:  Amity, New York       

Charges:      Robbery 2nd degree (C felony);
Criminal Possession of a Weapon (D felony);
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (A misdemeanor);
Menacing 2nd degree (A misdemeanor)

Court Appearance Date:  September 28, 2022

Proceedings:  Coty Denning was in Allegany County Court for an alleged robbery that occurred on June 19, 2022.  A pre-plea investigation report was ordered and further proceedings were scheduled for November 30, 2022.
