By Andrew Harris

Wellsville has been a baseball town since the end of World War II when the Wellsville Red Sox called Tullar Field home. While the days of minor league games in downtown Wellsville are long over, the baseball tradition is still a big part of the community.

The future stars of the varsity baseball team are preparing for the summer of 2023 Wildcat season. The traveling teams are holding open tryouts for future home run kings next weekend in Wellsville. Bring your ballplayer to the indoor facilities located at the former Dresser Rand Building on Coats Street in Wellsville. Times vary by age group, connect with the Wildcats on Facebook
