The Gallery at the Wellsville Creative Arts Center is open for business

By Andrew Harris

Last weekend, local artists and art enthusiasts gathered on Main Street Wellsville to celebrate a new chapter in the story of “The Little Gem.” This chapter is a tale of two local ladies who decided to shine up the “Gem,” and focus improving the gallery. Kathie Stedina and Nancy Reuning, both artists themselves, are welcoming fellow artists to join them by utilizing this great space.

The gallery is the ideal place in Wellsville to display and sell artwork. Located within the Wellsville Creative Arts Center, a steady stream of artists, musicians, and potential customers are already in the building. Next to the gallery is the world famous Texas Hot, potentially the most foot traffic anywhere in Allegany County. “The Little Gem,” is within feet of other popular Wellsville destinations like Fishers Pharmacy, The Wellsville Brewing Company, Hart’s Jewelry, and the David A Howe Library.

Stedina details the current hours of operation:

“Our hours going forward are Tuesday thru Saturday 10 to 4.  Other hours by chance or appointment. Appointments may be made by calling (585) 593-3000. We plan to add more hours as the holiday season approaches.  “

Interested? Artists or Craftspeople can call (585) 593-3000 and ask for Nancy or Kathie. All art that is for sale in the gallery must be pre-approved, or in ‘artspeak,’ juried.
