Open House September 24th 10 am -2pm
By Andrew Harris
The forces behind this latest move to highlight the work of local artists, and offer customers a place to purchase those products invited me to visit “The Little Gem,” this week. When I use the work ‘forces,’ I mean it! Behind the scenes of this little gem on Main Street Wellsville are two accomplished artists who are making it a point to advocate for the entire local art community.
Kathy Stedina and Nancy Reuning are not just artists, they are art champions. These ladies, when hearing that the “The Little Gem,” was likely to stop operating asked the management for a chance to manage the gallery. As selfless advocates for art and artists, Kathy and Nancy agreed to keep the gallery alive, breathe some fresh air into the space, and reinvest all the proceeds back into the Wellsville Creative Arts Center.
Saturday September 24th is a chance for the public to come visit this space and its new stewards. Many of the featured artists will be on hand and this is a great time for any local artist to consider using the “Little Gem” to showcase and sell their art.
