Multiple injuries, all 20 years old and younger

Michael T. Baldwin Reports

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department early Saturday morning investigated a deadly crash on Route 417 in the Town of Portville. This is a statement –  “Investigation revealed that a pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old male hit a Jeep that was legally parked on the side of the road. That Jeep was propelled forward across a lawn where it hit a 19-year-old male, fatally injuring him. The truck continued on and hit a parked sedan before also going across the lawn. One or both of the vehicles also hit a 16-year-old female and an 18-year-old female. The 18-year-old was transported to Erie County Medical Center in critical condition and the 16-year-old was transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital where she is being treated for multiple injuries. Names and charge information are not available at this time but the presence of intoxicant is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.”
