Election update: Party enrollment deadline is August 11, early voting starts August 13

From the New York State Board of Elections in regards to change of enrollment (party change). At the New York State Board’s request, the court has issued an order setting 4:00 pm Thursday August 11 as the deadline for boards to receive party enrollment changes- to be effective for the August 23rd Primary election. Any enrollment changes received after that date are not effective until August 30. And after that date, any enrollment changes would be effective immediately until the February 14, 2023 deadline.

Additionally, Republicans vote twice on August 23rd!!

It will be a Special Election (every registered voter is eligible) & a Republican Primary (just Republicans). They are on the same day & same hours. There will be 2 separate ballots. 1 for everyone & another for just Republicans. Both ballots are for the Congressional seat in the 23rd district. (REPUBLICANS CHOOSING TO VOTE IN BOTH ELECTIONS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO EXIT THE BUILDING THEN REENTER TO VOTE).
