Update on Wellsville American Legion Riders injured in Butler PA crash

Update: GO FUND ME for the Nye’s

We now know more about the Wellsville-based American Legion Riders who were seriously injured during an event in Pennsylvania. According to a Facebook post, Beverly Nye and her husband Ron Nye, were traveling with other bikers from the American Legion Riders to Butler, PA when they were involved in a motorcycle accident and they were rushed to Pittsburg trauma unit with multiple injuries. Both Ron and Bev have had at least one surgery with more to follow. They both will have a VERY long recovery. Bev was a Registered Nurse and a Matron for the Wellsville Police Department.

Lynda Stark, the third Rider who was involved in the crash is also recovering from her injuries in a Pittsburgh hospital. According to the American Legion Rider representative:

“they have moved her to a regular room and are discussing her release. She has several broken bones, ribs, wrist and leg. The Legion Riders family has been hit hard by these events, but the support and the Grace of God they will be ok.”

According to the Butler Eagle, two “Trike” style motorcycles were struck by a van while traveling on Route 8 in Butler. The “Riders” were traveling from Wellsville to the Butler Bikes and BBQ festival.
