Wellsville Diamond Dawgs softball team returns with Finalist Trophy

Coach Matt Burke and his summer traveling team are on the way back from Ohio after the last day of the tournament was cancelled due to weather. The sixteen and under team played four games in Columbus, dominating a Canadian team and an Ohio team.

The scores below are from the “pool play” portion of the tournament. Today was schedule to be the “bracket play” part of the tournament to decide the winner. Coach Burke explains,

Coach Burke explains,

“Massive downpours, thunder and lightening forced them to cancel all the bracket play for today. It is disappointing to get cancelled but it was a great experience. The facility in Columbus as 33 softball fields all under lights. The girls had a great time and learned a lot!”
