Wellsville Police Department reports from first week of July

WPD tackles DWI, bench warrant arrest, and multiple harassment charges

All arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

Friday July 1, 2022

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 27 of Wellsville, charging her with DWI, Refusal to take a breath test and Moved from lane unsafely. The charges stem from an accident that took place in the Riverwalk Plaza where she struck a light pole. The accused was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released to a third party. She is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on August 23rd at 4:30 pm.

Saturday July 2, 2022

Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested a male, age 59 of Bolivar, for failure to appear in Court on a previous AUO 3rd charge. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on August 2nd at 4:30 pm.

Sunday July 3, 2022

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 42 of Wellsville, charging him with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Chestnut Street in the Village. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on July 19th at 4:30 pm.

Monday July 4, 2022

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 40 of Wellsville, charging her with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on North Broad Street in the Village. She was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on July 12th at 4:30 pm.
