Local law officers receive training at Steuben Public Safety Building

BATH – Fifteen students from law enforcement agencies recently completed New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services courses at the Steuben County Public Safety Building. The students, from the Allegany County Sheriff, Chemung County Sheriff, Steuben County Sheriff, City of Corning and City of Hornell Police departments, and state Police at Alfred successfully completed the two-week state Instructor Development Course and Police Field Training Officer courses. The students will be able to field-train new officers or deputies and to conduct local, regional and state trainings and instruct at certified state Basic Courses for police and peace officers. “It is extremely important that we continue to provide quality training for the future generations of law enforcement,” said Steuben Sheriff Jim Allard. “These courses are instrumental in achieving that.”
