Louie R. Perry, 53, Andover

Louie R. Perry, 53, passed away Thursday (June 30, 2022) at home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Perry was born on May 6, 1969 in North Hornell to Harold W. and Rose M. (Welch) Perry. He attended both Andover Central School and Alfred-Almond Central School.

Louie worked as a custodian for Alfred University for the past 27 years. He previously worked as a carpenter for Coots Construction.

In addition to his parents, Louie is survived by a sister, Brenda Tears of Andover; a brother, George (Diana) Perry of Andover; a nephew, Bryce Perry of Andover and a niece, Betty (Thomas) Wilson of Belmont.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marjorie and Harold Perry, Sr and Helen and Bill Welch.

Louie loved hunting and enjoyed working out in the yard. He was a long-time member of the Andover First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday (July 6) from 5-6 p.m. at the Andover First Baptist Church. The memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the church immediately following the visitation with Rev. Calvin Densmore officiating. Louie’s ashes will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Bill and Wendy Daley and Dan and Bobbi Sue Foster for their tireless nursing care during Louie’s illness; a special thank you to his cousin Dan (Lennox) Hackett for their thoughtful kindness and a special thank you to Pastor Calvin Densmore for his gracious spiritual guidance.
