Defendant’s Name:  Thomas Kazanjian

Address:  Cuba, New York        

Charges:      Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 3rd degree (class D felony);
Criminal Contempt, 2nd degree (A misdemeanor);
Harassment, 2nd degree (violation)

Court Appearance Date:  June 17, 2022

Proceedings:  Following a previous arrest, Thomas Kazanjian was in court to argue for a bail reduction related to several pending charges.  The People, citing several issues including multiple alleged threats made by the defendant, argued the current bail was appropriate.  The Court ruled in favor of the People and the defendant’s bail was not reduced.

Charges:  Violation of Probation

Court Appearance Date:  June 22, 2022

Proceedings:  A Belmont man was in Allegany County Court for an alleged violation of his probation conditions.  For that violation, he was sentenced to 4 months in the Allegany County Jail.           


Defendant’s Name:  Ayden B. Hendricks

Address:  Cuba, New York        

Charges:      Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree (a class D felony);
Attempted Arson in the 3rd Degree (a class D felony); and
Reckless Endangerment of Property (a class B misdemeanor).            

Court Appearance Date:  June 22, 2022

Proceedings:  Following a pre-trial conference, Ayden B. Hendricks pled guilty to the class D felony of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree in Allegany County Court.  As part of his plea, Mr. Hendricks admitted to breaking the windows and door of the Palmer Opera House last January.  Sentencing is scheduled for August 30th, at which time the People, represented by 1st Assistant District Attorney, Ian M. Jones, will be arguing for a term of state prison to be imposed.     


Defendant’s Name:  Aweys A. Hussein

Address:  Amity, New York        

Charges:  Assault in the 2nd degree (a class D felony)

Court Appearance Date:  June 22, 2022

Proceedings:  Aweys A. Hussein was indicted by a grand jury for Assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony.  This follows an alleged fight within Allegany County Jail earlier this month.    

Address:  Belmont, New York        

Charges:  Violation of Probation

Court Appearance Date:  June 17, 2022

Proceedings:  A Belmont man was in Allegany County Court for an alleged violation of his probation conditions.  The People argued the defendant should be held in the Allegany County Jail pending further proceedings on July 5th.  He was remanded to the Allegany County Jail.
