The Allegany County Board of Legislators is excited to learn of Runnings, Incorporated’s
purchase of the former Kmart building in Wellsville. In addition to the reported 40 new
jobs coming to our community, the opening of a true “destination” retail store is great news
for our entire region.
The Board of Legislators would like to congratulate and thank Dr. Craig Clark and the
Allegany County Industrial Development Agency, Wellsville Mayor Randy Shaylor, Mr.
Clint Gilkey, the Wellsville Economic Development Board, and the L.C. Whitford
Company for all of their hard work. Economic development is a collaborative effort, and
the Allegany County Board of Legislators is proud of the teamwork exhibited by our
