Greater Allegany County Chamber of Commerce refers members to local “Chamber”

The county operation will close permanently at the end of June

It didn’t take long after Allegany County legislators voted to “defund the chamber,” for the operation to die on the vine. The county was funding the Greater Allegany County Chamber as a wing of the county tourism effort, but decided earlier this year to make the tourism promotion business part of the Office of Economic Development.

That decision is now, “water under the bridge” and the Greater Alllegany County Chamber of Commerce is now shutting down. Before they close the door and pull the shade for good, the county group made a gesture to several other local “chamber of commerce.”
