Alco FCU is happy to announce the addition of Jim Knapp to the team

“I am excited to get back to Alco’s old school approach to retail installment lending,” Jim Knapp said, “and to put Alco FCU on the map with Commercial Lending as well for our members! I have been lending in Allegany and surrounding counties for over 30 years and look forward to making Alco FCU a ‘one stop shop’ for all your credit needs!”

Jim understands the unique needs of small businesses.

He is a co-owner of Wellsville Brewing Company and grew up on his family’s 100-plus cow dairy farm.

Knapp credits his parents for teaching him the importance of giving back to the community. Today, he is a member of the Board of Directors at Jones Memorial Hospital and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Allegany Chapter, and Elks Lodge 1495.

Previously, he was a member of the Wellsville Lions for 20 years and sat on the Education Foundation of Alfred State College. He was the 2014 recipient of the Spirit of Wellsville Award for his many years of volunteering and giving back to the community.

Mike Miller, CEO of Alco FCU, said they have identified ways to help customers.

“We’ve identified a need in our communities where we can take our current lending philosophies and bring them into the commercial world,” Miller said. “Alco has such loyal members because of our incredible customer service”, Mike continued. “We don’t just take two seconds and deny your loan or try and fit you into a product or service that isn’t right for you. We will try and try and try to make something work so that you walk away happy and in a better spot.”

Alco FCU has been serving its members since 1953. You can be a member too if you live, work, worship, or attend school in Allegany County or if an immediate family member is a member. Alco FCU has four locations in Allegany County in Wellsville, Cuba, Belmont, and Friendship. Visit us online at www.alcofcu.com today!
