I.H.S hosts railroad history presentations on May 14 in Whitesville

Steve Cotton will speak on the Whitesville connection

The Town of Independence Historical Society (I.H.S.) invites the public to attend the first of the planned activities celebrating the 200th anniversary of the town of Independence. 

To kick things off, guest speaker, Steve Cotton will provide a presentation on the history of the local railroad. Steve is a local historian from Canisteo, NY, who has compiled many photographs and historical information on the New York and Pennsylvania Railroad (NYP).  His presentation will include a power point featuring pictures and items of significance to the NYP as it relates to Whitesville and the areas from Potter County, Pennsylvania to Canisteo, NY.

WHEN:  Saturday, May 14, 2022 @ 6:00 PM

WHERE:  Whitesville Fire Hall ~ Main Street ~ Whitesville, NY

Light refreshments will be served.
