Congressman Zeldin Slams Kathy Hochul for Getting Rolled By Far-Left Dems on Cashless Bail

Share:

NEW YORK – Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Governor, issued the following statement on New York Governor Kathy Hochul getting rolled by far-left Democrats regarding the need for major overhaul of the state’s cashless bail law:

“Once again, it’s clear who Governor Kathy Hochul takes her marching orders from, the far-left Democrats in Albany. After spending months telling everyone she needed more data on the negative impacts of cashless bail, including the deaths, serious injuries, and other harm to New Yorkers, Kathy Hochul’s delay and inaction proved extremely costly. Hochul initially left changes to cashless bail out of her original budget proposal, waited until she got bad polling and booed and roasted in Madison Square Garden during her infamous puck drop, made a weak initial ask, and then got rolled by the far-left to settle for almost nothing.”
