The Bolivar Police Department and Allegany County District Attorney’s Office will not be filing criminal charges against a Bolivar-Richburg teacher for an alleged incident in a classroom on Feb. 17.
However, the school has now started their own investigation.
Bolivar Police Chief Steven McPherson said in a statement, “On Feb. 17, at around 3:45 p.m. Bolivar Police Department received a complaint from a (child under 15 in middle school) alleging inappropriate conduct in a classroom. After a thorough investigation, no criminal charges will be held at this time. The Bolivar-Richburg Central School District will also be conducting an investigation.
McPherson said there is a difference between a criminal act and a workplace violation. He said a workplace violation would be handled at a business or school.
