Some very interesting topics will be on the agenda tonight as the Town of Wellsville board meets for its monthly meeting. The meeting, at 7pm, will be held in the hanger at the Wellsville Municipal Airport, a temporary home while the new town facility is being constructed.
The agenda below has some very interesting items, starting with the Highway Department. Acting superintendent Brian Smith will be discussing the flood plain repair on the Dyke’s Creek that brought heated debate late last summer. Smith will also be bringing a culvert repair project on Hanover Hill to the board along with some human resource updates.
Alfred State College’s Jeff Stevens will bring the college plans to develop vacant land in the Proctor Rd/Truax Rd district. Stevens has already brought the general plan before the Village of Wellsville but the majority of the proposed site is in the town. Alfred is floating a plan to start building condominium style housing utilizing the Building Trades program over the better part of a decade.
Another exciting development is on the agenda and puts some truth to the rumor that Quicklee’s is interested in developing in the town. Representatives from the chain of gas stations and convenience stores will be addressing the board.
Town Supervisor Shad Alsworth has indicated he plans to initiate an open discussion about the future of the town court facility.
