Omicron variant cases start adding to surge already underway in Erie County. Over 1100 residents tested positive, a new daily record since the pandemic began. The newest version off Covid-19 has started appearing, just in time for the holiday. As one contact tracer reported today, “I’m at work and its mayhem. The dam will break after all these parties.”

At least in Allegany county, the warm weather erased the already light cover of snow with rain and 50F temperatures. No sled riding, or snowmen, or winter wonderlands this year. Most meteorologists agree that this years mild, wet winter is the product of the “La Nina” winds, all the way from the Pacific ocean. Here is the Accuweather forecast for the next few days in Wellsville:

Amanda Sendall was wanted by seven different police agencies across Ohio and New York for a string of storage facility thefts. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies were just waiting and watching for her to make a mistake. As a patrol car monitored a storage facility in the town of Ellery, NY, the cat burglar sprung the trap and got caught. She was arrested with the tools of her trade and promptly incarcerated awaiting court action. Read the full story in the Buffalo News:

This wasn’t Sendell’s first brush with the law this year, she has been arrested multiple times already this year, starting with this arrest back in January:

On January 17th, 2021, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Amanda Sendall, 34, of Gerry, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree. The Troopers pulled over Sendall for a traffic violation on Federal Place in Jamestown. While speaking to Sendall, the Troopers observed multiple items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle in plain view. A search of Sendall and the vehicle revealed the following items: a bag containing methamphetamine, eight bags containing heroin and several needles and items commonly used for the use and sale of narcotics. Sendall was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Sendall was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

Tis the season for theft, or all crime for that matter. Amity-based State Police nabbed two serious criminals just before the holiday:

Remember John Anderson’s story earlier this week about the little party Buffalo Bills Spencer Brown had on the sidelines with a fan, and a beer? It turns out the NFL sent a big fine to Brown: Five thousand dollars. In response, Brown tweeted:

“”Well…… ended up being the most expensive @budlight of my life.”
