Great news for the Wellsville Airport, Allegany County’s 80th Covid-19 death, Local arrests, and Michael T has a new radio show
The Wellsville Municipal Airport is set to receive 159,000 in federal funding. Hornell will get $110,000. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $136,977,897 in federal funding for 59 airports across New York State. The FY22 funding was allocated through the recently enacted Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and can be used for improvements related to runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.
The COVID death toll in Allegany County has rise to 80. The DOH says a 92-year-old woman has succumbed to complication from COVID-19. The Allegany County Department of Health is making a plea to County residents, if you have not been vaccinated yet, please get vaccinated. If you have been vaccinated, please get your booster. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine has shown to reduce the risk of hospitalizations, serious illness and death.
On Thursday, at approximately 10:03AM, Cuba Police arrested Jacob W. Loiacono (55) of Cuba. Loiacono was arrested on charges of forcible touching (Misdemeanor). Loiacono was processed and released to appear at a later date.

State Police arrested 67-year old David Nissley of Fillmore. He was charged with felony first-degree sexual abuse. He’ll answer the charge in Centerville court.
