The Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a puzzling fire: A small pine tree, ablaze during a rain storm. Crews responded, and had this to report:

An interesting capture of the gas fire

“This morning, crews were dispatched to a reported “working tree fire” in the 8800 block of County Route 5. CVFC Chiefs, E2 and T7 responded shortly after being toned.

Upon arrival, Chief confirmed that despite the downpour, there was in fact a tree on fire. E2 arrived on scene, deployed the trash line to extinguish the fire only to find that it was gas fed.

Crews worked for hours to stop the gas leak

Command then requested National Fuel to the scene. Crews remained on scene for over 6 hours until the gas leak had been stopped and the fire extinguished.”
