From Staff Reports, 11/17/21, All arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court

Friday November 12, 2021

Wellsville Police arrested Skyanne D. Carpenter, age 24 of Wellsville, charging her with Burglary 2nd (Class C Felony) and Petit Larceny. The charges stem from an incident that took place on King Street in the Village. Carpenter was processed and arraigned before Associate Wellsville Village Justice Walsh. Carpenter was committed to the Allegany County jail on $1,000.00 cash bail, $2,000.00 property bond or $5,000.00 partially secured bond. Carpenter is due back in Wellsville Village Court on November 16th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 27 of Olean, charging him with Criminal Sale of Cannabis 3rd and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The charges stem from an incident that took place on North Broad Street on November 1st. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on December 21st at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 29 of Wellsville, charging him with DWI and Moving from a lane unsafely. The charges stem from a traffic stop on Maple Avenue in the Village. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released to a third party. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on December 21st at 4:30 pm. Additional charges are pending blood test results.

Sunday November 14, 2021

Wellsville Police arrested a man, age 30 of Scio, charging him with Petit Larceny. The charge stems from an incident that took place at Tops on November 12th. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on December 21st at 4:30 pm

Tuesday November 16, 2021

Wellsville Police arrested a man, age 61 of Allegany, charging him with Criminal Contempt 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Martin Street in September of 2021. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on January 18th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested a man, age 25 of Olean, for failure to appear in Court on previous DWI and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th charges. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on January 18th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police issued a community bulletin on Tuesday November 16th in the search for a missing man. The man was found safe and his mother offered high praise to the department:

“Thank you so much to all the Wellsville police officers and citizens who helped locate my son and bring him back safely. We lost his brother to suicide earlier this year so that makes this successful rescue that much more precious. Thank you for your compassion and patience.”
