A copy of Dean Arnold’s resignation letter and reaction from community

Many were caught off guard when news broke that Dean Arnold, Town of Wellsville Highway Superintendent had resigned. The next day, another interesting twist emerged that Arnold had been hired by the Village of Wellsville to become the new Director of Public Works. Out going Director, Bill Whitfield, will be retiring at the end of this year after decades of service to the village.

The Wellsville Sun as obtained a copy of Arnold’s resignation letter and provided some comments from members of the community about Dean’s move, “from the town, to the village.”

Karen Annis: Thanks Dean Arnold for all your years of keeping our roads safe! We will miss your dedication and hard work for the Town of Wellsville!

Cyndi Stanton: Dean has done an excellent job as highway superintendent such a shame he felt resigning was his only option. Wishing him the best of luck with his future plans.

Chris Lounsberry: Dean is great, always helped the village guys when we needed it and was very thankful when we could help out the town. What a loss for the town, but hope all turns out well for him in his future endeavours.

Tracy Horn White: A huge loss for the community. Couldn’t have asked for a better Town Superintendent. Thank you Dean for all of your hard work!

Voni Marshall Walker: The Village is so fortunate to have Dean. Bill will be able to retire and know his replacement will take great pride in the position. Best wishes, Dean!!

Elizabeth Huyler: Congrats to Dean, he is a great guy!!
