Republican Candidate for NY Governor comments on statewide election results

NEW YORK – Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), who has been named the presumptive nominee for Governor of New York by both the New York Republican and Conservative Parties, issued the following statement after yesterday’s election results:

“Last night, all across New York and beyond, so much flipped from blue to red. Clearly, a big red tsunami is inbound, and it’s coming in November 2022! Whether it’s county-wide races on Long Island in Suffolk and Nassau Counties, New York City Council seats in Queens and Brooklyn, local races in places like Colonie or Hornell, and so many other elections throughout the state, it’s clear that New Yorkers are fed up with the failed one-party leadership that has run the state we love into the ground.
“New Yorkers are sick and tired of their communities being overrun by crime thanks to a party that has put criminals over the interests of law-abiding citizens. They’re sick and tired of the defund the police movement and the fatally flawed cashless bail law that has allowed career criminals to continue their crime sprees. They’re sick and tired of the attacks on our freedoms, our wallets, our kids’ education, and more, and they’re sick and tired of a Governor and state legislature digging their heels in with their bad policies instead of fixing their mistakes.

“Take New York’s cashless bail law, for example, if the New York State Legislature doesn’t immediately repeal it, we will in 2022 after voters show in even larger numbers than last night that they are all in to Save Our State.”
