The phrase “community involvement” was on full display Thursday night as thousands of parents and children packed the RiverWalk Shopping Plaza and the Crosstown Alliance Church parking lots for Trunk or Treat.

The Wellsville YMCA and the Crosstown Alliance Church sponsored the event.

The trunk part took many volunteers. Church members dressed in creative costumes and designed the opened back hatch of their vehicles or set up full displays in the two parking lots. Families were able to walk around to hundreds of vehicles and get candy and share a lot of laughs.

Also in the Crosstown Alliance Church parking lot at 450 North Highland was the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department handing out candy to children who enjoyed seeing the truck.

Families walked over to the YMCA where a children’s haunted house was set up in one of the empty store fronts. More vehicles were backed up with gifts and candy for kids. The event went for over two hours.
