Paula Clayson for Alma Town Justice

Share:

Hello, my name is Paula Clayson, and I am running for Alma Town Justice. I am a member of the Town of Alma Community Development Organization (TACDO) and a contributor to the social media group Alma Facts. I have lived in Alma for over thirty-three years with my husband and two sons. We chose to raise our family in Alma because my husband was born and raised here and living in a quiet town where neighbors helped neighbors without hesitation was appealing. It offered a sense of home. Alma has always had that wonderful quality and still does despite modern or ‘city’ challenges slowly encroaching upon it.

If you elect me as Town Justice, I will look for ways to help our great town maintain the lifestyle we love by encouraging young people who make mistakes to perform Community Service instead of paying fines, or requiring a combination of both. I feel that if a young person is held accountable through Community Service, they are learning a lesson in moral conduct as well as what it is to give back to the community. I will also explore options for Closed Circuit TV with secure local storage in the courtroom for a full account of court actions when permissible.

No town is perfect, but I feel that Alma has been, and will continue to be, a wonderful place to settle down and raise a family. The residents are some of the most well-informed and savvy voters I have encountered, and I know that you will vote for the future you wish to see for Alma.

On November 2, 2021, please look for my name on the Independent ticket “Make Alma Great”. It would be an honor to serve the community I truly love.
