History Lovers: The Hann Homestead Inn Hosting “Dearest Bea” Book Event This Thursday 9/30

The Hann Homestead Inn in Andover NY has become a premier destination for history buffs traveling through the Southern Tier. From those studying the early beginnings of our communities to Civil War reenactors to film makers documenting the life of Jason Dunham: They all love The Hann Homestead!!!

This week the historic property will host a wine and cheese reception in honor of John Common’s new book, “Dearest Bea.” Common is the son of longtime Andover dentist, John Common and complied this book of his fathers letters. Inn owner Barbara Rechenberg explains:

“A wine and cheese reception for the Dearest Bea Book Event at the Hann Homestead Inn on Thursday, Sept. 30 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, to introduce the new book Dearest Bea, a collection of WWII era letters written by Andover’s John Common. A visit to the new Bluebird Tourist Home next door will also be featured.”

Guests attending the event will be able to meet the author and get personalized tours of the “Bluebird Tourist Home.” This recently restored guest house was built in 1880 and is part of the homestead property. Books will be for sale at only $25 per, signed by the author who now hails from Charleston, SC. A copy of the book will be added to the archives of the Allegany County Historical Society, based in Andover.
