Alfred Farmers Market Hosts “Historic” Event

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The Renaissance faire is coming to Alfred Farmers Market on Sunday, October 3rd, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, on the corner of Saxon Drive and Main Street in downtown Alfred.

The Market will bustle with the regular vendors such as Living Cultures Farm, Living Acres Farm, KC Farms, Mascho Homestead Farm, and EIEIO Farm. Buy goat’s milk soap from Homestead on the Hill, colorful shirts from Grateful Tie Dyes, and fine craft wines and liquor from Ellicottville Distillery, including honey spirit and apple wine. Stop by Ruby and Bobbo’s stand for ice cream sandwiches, and then choose a healthy bag of garlic from Perky Balls Garlic. Julia Lauer’s glass and prints, the works of AU Artisans, and Emily Parker’s ceramics will also be available for purchase.

New vendors and artisans, whose work adds to the Market’s Renaissance theme, include ScandinaviRen’s Traditional Scandinavian Baked Treats and Viking Age crafts. Woodland Creations, by Terry Scott, depict images of wildlife and celtic symbols on wooden plaques, boxes and jewelry with pyrographic artistry. Ricki Mullen will sell beautiful hand knits and yarn. Radiate Love Crafts by Aimie Brown features handmade resin goods, and Cricut crafts. And since no Renaissance festival would be complete without gold and silver, the Market welcomes Heather Maxon’s jewelry.

In keeping with the theme, the Market encourages everyone to feel free to dress as the finest lord or lady of the land, to be merry, and to enjoy the Faire.
