The college football season is underway after a full slate of games over the long weekend. The perennial powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide once again begin the season as the top ranked program in the nation.
Alabama is the defending BCS National Champion and I give them the edge to run the table and repeat. As long as Nick Saban is at the helm, Alabama should always be in the championship discussion. The Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes round out the top three respectively.
On opening weekend, #1 Alabama took it to a quality Miami program 44-13, behind four touchdown passes by first year starting quarterback Bryce Young. I expect Alabama to remain the consensus #1 throughout the season
The most impressive team from week 1 was #2 Georgia and their stingy defense, Georgia held a really tough Clemson Tigers program without a touchdown in a 10-3 defensive slugfest.
#3 Ohio State handled their business in a 45-31 win over Minnesota. Quarterback CJ Stroud earned Big Ten freshman of the week honors with four touchdown passes.
The Oklahoma Sooners slip to #4 in the rankings after almost being upset by Tulane. While Clemson falls to #6 after a tough loss to #2 Georgia.
