As a self-described grocery store aficionado, this is big news for me as a dedicated shopper and for this fledging publication. Giant is the modern equivalent of the old-time village market, it is the busiest place in the Wellsville business district, and they provide employment for many in the community. Speaking of that, Giant is HIRING, see details below.
Giant Food Mart has been serving Wellsville and Cuba for over forty years, our first full service grocery store and a leader in the Wellsville business community ever since. Giant is a family owned business and is a major part of the Cuba community, perhaps the fastest growing town in the county. With a store in the two largest populations in Allegany County, the Giant Food Mart supplies a large portion of the county, and northern Pennsylvania, with critical goods and important services.
I bet you’ve relied on the deli for a family meal on the days cooking dinner was impossible. Because they are within minutes of most Wellsville and Cuba homes, we’ve all “run to the Giant,” at the last minute for staples, or lunch. My point is that for many of us, Giant Food Mart is part of daily life, and should naturally be part of this community news effort.
