SplatFest at GRC Paintball In Angelica This Weekend

One of Western New York’s biggest attractions isn’t exactly “mainstream.” The paintball world is a true subset of American life, the fans are as hardcore as any music fan and in fact, the two passions intersect almost universally. This weekend at GRC Paintball in Angelica, the world of paintball competition and live music become one with, Splatfest, named after the paintballs which make it all possible.

The music festival is free to those who are participating in the battle of “Bunker Hill”, a reenactment of the famous Revolutionary battle, but with paintball guns. The paintball battle is coined as, “British forces try and take Bunker Hill from the colonial army!”

For those who aren’t part of the battle, the music festival is only $15, tent camping is included. From 6pm until midnight, eight bands will play in the afterglow of the battle, with many food trucks surrounding the scene to feed the hungry warriors and music lovers. Here is a preview of one band coming to play “SplatFest” this year, Sierra Sunset:
