ACCORD Corporation’s Community Action Angels Program was pleased to accept a large donation of brand new clothing items from “The Barn” on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Melissa Biddle, Executive Operations Manager with ACCORD Corporation and frequent shopper and supporter of “The Barn” accepted the donation on behalf of the Community Action Angels Program.  “The Barn” is a family owned and operated small business located in Little Genesee, New York that receives weekly shipments of brand new merchandise from store liquidation/close out and/or overstock items and sells items at about 50% of the original retail price.  Items range from clothing, baby, kitchen, household, electronic and holiday items.

Owners, Tasha & Andy Howard and Joan & Kirby Cook started the small business three years ago initially out of their home.  As the business continued to grow, they opened up a location at “The Barn” on Second Street in Bolivar, NY and also at Dodge Creek Sporting Goods in Richburg, NY.  In February 2021, the family owned business opened up their existing location at 8519 Route 417, Little Genesee, NY 14754.

“We like to be able to offer nice things at an affordable price for members of local communities,” explained co-owner, Joan Cook.  “We are honored to be able to donate all of these new clothing items to such a great community-based program like ACCORD’s Community Action Angels Program.”

ACCORD’s Community Action Angels is a group of dedicated volunteers who work together to provide support to Allegany County residents through a variety of programs and services. The Action Angels headquarters is located at the Angel Cloud, our warehouse in Allentown, NY, where they accept and distribute new clothing and new or gently used household items for people of all ages who are in need, free of charge.  Throughout the year, Community Action Angels also offer school supply distributions, holiday gift giveaways, holiday stockings to nursing home residents, personal care item packages, and Books, Blankets, & Buddy Bags for children who are experiencing a crisis or family emergency.
