To the residents of the Town of Alma, New York, let me introduce myself. I am Shaun Taylor and I am running for the position of Town Supervisor.
I was raised in Allentown where I still reside. I attended the Allentown School thru 6th grade then graduated from Scio in 1979. My wife and I were married in 1986 and raised two children here and they both still reside in Allentown. I retired in 2018 after 33 years of employment at Air Preheater in Wellsville.
I am a 42-year member of the Allentown Vol. Fire Co. and have held many offices including two terms as chief. In 2016, I was president of the Allegany County Volunteer Firemens Assoc. and we hosted the convention here in our little town. Currently I serve as 1st Asst. chief and as a trustee assisting in the continued growth of the department.
Also, I have been a County District Deputy Coordinator for 20 years assisting the 4 departments in District 6. For 10 years I have also been Deputy Fire Coordinator for the Allegany County Office of Emergency Management serving the county directly under the Fire Coordinator. In 2020 I was appointed Emergency Manager for the Town of Alma.
It’s no secret that this town is having major problems – problems that will take a long time to get straightened out. If elected I will do my very best to have the board and the highway crew work as a cohesive unit, one team to solve the issues and move this town forward as smoothly as possible. And to not only listen but understand the comments, complaints, and compliments of the residents and then work as one team to find a solution that’s agreeable to everyone.
On June 22nd at the Republic Primary I would greatly appreciate your vote, also in the general election in November, I am willing to work hard to get the town back to where it should be.
Thank you for the anticipated support
Shaun Taylor
