Alco Federal Credit Union Awards Scholarships

Each year Alco Federal Credit Union invests in the future of the community by awarding scholarships to local high school seniors to help finance their college education. Four $500 scholarships were awarded this year.

Caitlin Ferguson

Congratulation to this years’ winners:

Caitlin Ferguson from Wellsville Central School, Ethan Bump from Cuba-Rushford Central School, Kaitlyn Calladine from Andover Central School and Cole Armison from Fillmore Central School.

Caitlin will be attending Fredonia in the fall with the plan of getting a Masters in Communication and working as a speech pathologist. She has been very active with the Wellsville American Legion Unit 702 Auxiliary providing dozens of hours of community service. She was also a cheerleader for football and basketball for 2 years and you may have seen her working at our local Giant Food Mart the last couple of years.


Ethan Bump

Ethan is an Eagle Scout and an active outdoorsman. He has participated in Trap Club since 7th grade and was top male competitor in 2019. He has also participated in the FFA and Fish & Wildlife Program. Ethan has won the Alfred State Pioneer Award and plans on attending Alfred State in the fall. He has been accepted into the Electrical Construction & Maintenance Program.

Kaitlyn Calladine

Kaitlyn plans on attending Alfred University this fall to get a Bachelors in Biology and then transfer to UB to continue her studies. She has her eye on a profession in the medical field. Kaitlyn has been President of her class since 7th grade. She has been a  3-time County All-Star in Soccer and made the All-Tournament Team for Softball in 2019. She has also worked for Manor Hills and OTIS as well as being a lifeguard.


Cole has been accepted at Alfred State College in the Motorcycle and Power Equipment Tech Program. He plans on working towards becoming a motorcycle and power sport mechanic and business owner. Cole has been very active with 4-H, the FFA and state and local fairs where he has won numerous awards. He was the 1st youth to place 1st on NY State FFA and 4-H livestock judging. Cole has also participated in Track, Soccer, Ski Club.
