Bill Whitfield, Director of Public Works for the Village of Wellsville, has had a long Saturday. He just relayed the following message to the public after a mid morning vehicle crash literally knocked down a major electrical line. Most of Wellsville was without power until about 3:30pm.
“We’ve restored power to most of the village but these areas will remain without power until the early morning hours due to the damage:
The Wellsville Country Club, Riverside Drive, the north side of Bolivar Road, and from George Street north off Highland Avenue.”
All village residents should have full electrical service restored on Sunday morning. Again the planned electrical outage for maintenance on Sunday has been cancelled. The coincidence of this emergency outage has given plenty of reason to reschedule. Village crews have and are working around the clock to restore service.
