Brood X Cicadas About To Emerge, But Not In Western New York

When you hear that distinctive sound that can only be described as a loud, variable buzz in this part of the country, you are hearing a slightly different kind of cicada, the annual cicada. Brood X, arguably louder and with beet red eyes, mainly emerges in the Delaware Valley region, in Indiana, Tennessee, and northern Georgia. Corporal Jason Dunham To Be Honored At NASCAR Coca-Cola 500

Kurt Busch will drive this race with a tribute to Dunham on his windshield at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 30th. Several other cars will also have dedications to other fallen military heroes to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend. Jason Dunham was killed in Iraq in 2004 and posthumously received the Medal of Honor for his actions in combat. Read the Olean Times Herald Story Here
