Are you enjoying the ability to order wine, beer, and mixed drinks ‘to-go’ from your favorite restaurant and or pub? You can thank Governor Cuomo as he as extended the measure aimed at the keeping hospitality industry alive during the pandemic. Due to recent legislation passed to limit the Governors emergency powers, Cuomo only has the ability to extend such orders in thirty day increments. Restaurant trade groups are asking the state to make takeout alcohol sales permanent.

In addition to extending the to-go Russian Mules and Mai Tai’s, executive orders provided property tax payment extensions for certain municipalities.

A broader, ‘re-opening- in New York is planned for May 19th, in which most businesses expect to be able to return to “full capacity”. New York currently has a 1.2% Covid 19 positivity rate, the lowest since the middle of 2020.
