Ardent Solutions and the Allegany County Early Childhood Development and Education Coalition today announced it will partner with The Dolly Foundation to promote early literacy for Allegany County children.  Each month, children from birth to age five will have the thrill of receiving a free high-quality, age-appropriate book through the mail.

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the leading early childhood book gifting program in the world mailing more than 1.4 million books each month to registered children. Dolly envisioned creating a lifelong love of reading, inspiring them to dream. The impact of the program has been widely researched and results suggest positive increases in key early childhood literacy metrics.  Allegany County will become the newest affiliate benefiting from this incredible opportunity.

“We are excited to join Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and encourage good reading habits for parents, caregivers, and their children,” exclaimed Robin Fuller, Allegany County Early Childhood Development and Education Coalition Coordinator.  “When your child receives his/her Imagination Library books, we encourage parents and caregivers to begin reading to your child immediately, read to your child at least five days per week, and read books multiple times,” continued Fuller.

Families can sign up at www.imaginationlibrary.com  or contact Ardent Solutions at fullerr@ardentnetwork.org or by phone at 585-648-6022.  The Early Childhood Development and Education Coalition and their efforts are funded in part by the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation.
