Wednesday April 7th at 7:00 pm at the David Howe Library, Ellen Williams, author of “Out of the Woods”, will focus on the famous stallion, Direct Hal. The horse was owned for a time by Oak Duke in Wellsville, the Whitesville trainer William Snow, and the Cobb brothers. Williams will discuss the harness horse culture of western New York, including Hornell and its race track. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
