Bluebird Weekend For Wellsville To Welcome Spring

Share:

Get out of the house!! The equinox is upon us and the weather is going to be exactly as it should be, sunny with temperatures into the sixties!! One of my favorite parts about the changing of seasons is the birds!! Here is one famous passeriforme who is always a welcome sign of spring.

On the subject of birds, as the ice comes off the pond, migration starts in earnest. The Genesee River hosts many of these travelers, but for those who love to watch but not bust the brush, Brown’s Marsh on Rt. 417 east of Wellsville offers great “drive by” opportunities. Last year about this time that marsh was blessed with a pair of White Pelicans!!! Swans, egrets, cormorants, and many species of migratory waterfowl can be seen feeding and resting here. And don’t forget the Riverwalk Plaza is also an easy place to watch multiple species at once.
