The Buffalo man accused of shooting and dismembering his 34-year-old wife in the Allegany County Town of Allen will appear in Allegany County court Monday afternoon. He will be arraigned on the indictment charges as well as competency issues.

52-year-old Philip M. Farren is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter stemming from the incident last April. Troopers said Farren confessed to killing the victim earlier in the week and was attempting to dismember the body when troopers arrived.

The case is being heard by Judge Terrence Parker and is being prosecuted by ADA Ian Jones.
