Betty (Eaton) Carroll, 89, of Eleven Mile Road, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the UPC Charles Cole Hospital in Coudersport, PA. Betty was born at home in Genesee, PA, on June 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Elwin “Avery” and Zelma (Kuhn) Eaton. On October 16, 1951, in Sacred Heart Church of Genesee PA, she married, her husband of sixty-six years, Robert Carroll – who survives.

She was a 1950 graduate from the former Genesee High School. She worked for a time at the J.J. Newberrys in Wellsville, before becoming a full-time mother. She was a member of St. Theresa’s in Shinglehouse and attended mass at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, camping, and family. She will be remembered for her quilt and doll making.

Surviving, in addition to her husband Robert, are: two daughters, Ann (Steven Lee) Carroll-Lee of Webster and Nancy (Bob) Weber of Coudersport; 2 granddaughters, Kim (Jeremy) Grossman of Gaines, PA, and Janel (Jay) Wilcox of Sykesville, MD; 2 great-grandchildren, Cole and Reed Grossman; a sister, Marjorie Guido; a sister-in-law, Audry Eaton; a brother-in-law, Max Stuckey; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was predeceased in addition to her parents, by: three sisters, Pearl Baldwin, Gertrude Dunham, and Genieve Stuckey; and four brothers, Leo Eaton, Clifton Eaton, Elwin Eaton, and Richard Eaton.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 10am to 11am at St. Eulalia Church in Coudersport (6 Maple Street). A Mass of Christian burial to proceed at 11am with Rev. James Campbell presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kinney, PA. Please consider memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
