Frederick Francisco served the Riverside Assembly of God for many years

At about 1:30pm on Monday October 19th emergency services reported a serious accident on Route 19, just south of the Village of Wellsville. The road was closed for several hours to traffic. From the New York State Police:
On October 19, 2026, at 1:40 P.M., Troopers out of SP Amity responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a commercial vehicle on State Route 19 in the town of Wellsville. Investigation determined the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling southbound on State Route 19 and crossed into the oncoming lane and stuck a 1997 Mack Truck traveling northbound. The operator of the 2018 Chevrolet, Frederick W. Francisco, 87 of Wellsville, NY was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 61-year-old operator was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital for precautionary assessment.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
Unconfirmed reports from first responders indicate that the accident was a no-fault tragedy, suspecting that Francisco suffered a medical event which caused the accident.
“Fred” was a beloved pastor of the Riverside Assembly of God located on Riverside Drive in Wellsville inspiring and leading the church for over thirty years.
