“There are two reasons I want to serve the town in this position, my passion for Wellsville and the challenges of the job, and second, my family,” Loucks said. “I’ve spent the last 20 years working on the road in many of the same capacities the highway superintendent position requires. I would like to take my education and job experience with the business world to work for the town and the taxpayers.”

Loucks, a Wellsville native and resident, has three children at Wellsville Central School, Claytin, Carly and Stephen. He graduated in 2002 from Wellsville before earning an associates degree in wildlife conservation from Finger Lakes Community College in 2004.

Currently, Loucks is working for Otis Minnesota Services, where he has been a foreman and laborer since 2007. He is certified by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers.

“I work with crews and the budgeting process as well as building proper access roads, drainage and ditching,” Loucks said. “Whether it’s town government or a business, you have to work within a budget, get the most out of your fleet of equipment and exceed standards of quality work and safety for our residents.”

Loucks also has expertise in the field of repairing and maintaining the area around pump stations and pipelines, including digging drainage ditches. He has assisted with the construction of pipe sites and ensured the proper fittings.
