46 year old male jailed with no bail after attempted aggravated, vehicular assault on officers

On June 30th, 2026, at approximately 1:06AM, following a complaint, Cuba Police arrested Joel D. Battistoni (46) of Cuba, NY. Battistoni was arrested on charges of harassment 2nd (Violation), illegal signal (Violation), no/inadequate lights (Violation), moved from lane unsafely (Violation), unsafe backing (Violation), unsafe movement of a motor vehicle (Violation), reckless driving (Unclassified Misdemeanor), failure to obey a police officer (Violation), criminal mischief 3rd (Felony), reckless endangerment 1st (Felony), reckless driving (Unclassified Misdemeanor), obstruction of governmental administration (Misdemeanor), attempted aggravated assault on a police officer (Felony), attempted vehicular assault first (Felony) resisting arrest (Misdemeanor).

These charges stem from a traffic stop in which Battistoni allegedly attempted to strike two police officers and allegedly used a motor vehicle to strike a police vehicle. Battistoni was processed and sent to the Allegany County Jail on no bail.
Battistoni is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
