Come sing in Wellsville with Allegany County’s finest proper chorus group and celebrate song!

The Genesee Valley Chorus is celebrating a major milestone this year—its 50th anniversary—and is inviting former members and guest singers to help mark the occasion at a special anniversary concert on Sunday, June 14 at 3 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 470 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY.
Over the past five decades, hundreds of singers have shared their voices with the chorus. Some were other local choirs, such as Mosaic and The Fountain Arts Center, or longtime members who retired from active participation, while others joined the group for special performances, community events, or occasions such as memorial and funeral services. As part of the anniversary celebration, the chorus would like to welcome these past participants back to the stage for a song or two during the concert.
“This anniversary is not only a celebration of the chorus, but also of all the people who have contributed to its musical tradition over the years,” said the group’s organizers. “We hope former members and guest singers will join us as we honor our shared history and the friendships we’ve built through music.”
To help everyone prepare, a special rehearsal will be held on Saturday, June 13 at the Grace United Church, 289 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY, at 3pm, giving returning singers an opportunity to learn or review the selected music and sing alongside current chorus members. Refreshments will be provided.
The anniversary concert on June 14 will feature music reflecting the chorus’s love of music and shared community spirit. Returning singers will help create a memorable reunion of voices from across the group’s 50-year legacy.
Anyone who has sung with the Genesee Valley Chorus in the past—or who joined the group for a special event and would like to participate—is invited to come join us. We do encourage you to RSVP so that we know how much music and food we will need! The Genesee Valley Chorus looks forward to celebrating 50 years of music, fellowship, and community with familiar faces and voices from throughout its history.
